Lake of Mithrim was a great lake in the land of Mithrim in Hithlum.
History
Lake Mithrim was where on the second year of the sun where the Ñoldor first dwelt in Middle-earth: the Sons of Fëanor on the northern shore and Fingolfin's host on the southern shore.[1]
It was fed by three streams coming from the Ered Wethrin.[2]
Etymology
The word Mith means Grey and rim means Folk so therefore it means Lake Grey-folk or perhaps Lake of the Grey-folk in Sindarin.[3]
