John Stephenson is an American actor. He was born on August 9, 1923 and died on May 15, 2015 (aged 91).
Biography
Known mostly for his voice work, he voiced the Great Goblin in the The Hobbit, the Witch-king of Angmar, and a guard of Gondor in The Return of the King in the Rankin/Bass animated films.
He is best known for doing the voice of Mr. Slate in The Flintstones, Bionic-1/Jack Bennett/Klunk/Techno Tex in Bionic Six, Kup and Alpha Trion in the The Transformers animated TV series, and the narrator on Dragnet 1967.
Other voice roles include The Dukes, The Incredible Hulk, and various voices in The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour.
He was born August John Stephenson.
