John Noble (b. August 20, 1948, Port Pirie, South Australia, Australia) is an Australian actor/theatre director. John Noble is also credited as John Nogle, due to his name being misspelled in the ending credits of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition.

He played the role of Denethor in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. He is also well known for playing and voicing Leland Monroe in Rockstar Games's L.A. Noire, released in 2011.

He played the role of Mallus on DC's Legends of Tomorrow. He also played the role of himself playing the role of Denethor in The Lord of the Rings movies on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, in a ruse to impersonate Mallus.

John starred in the hit show Fringe, which premiered in 2008 and ended in 2013. He played an unstable scientist, Walter Bishop. John enjoys researching, on the internet, the scientific jargon in the scripts for Fringe.

Personal life

John is married. His wife's name is Penny, they have three children: Samantha, Jessica and Daniel. Samantha (Sam) (b. 1984) is an actress, something of which John mentions quite often in interviews- he is apparently very proud.
