Jim Rygiel in one of Michael Pellerin's documentary features
Jim Rygiel (born February 17, 1955) is an American visual effects supervisor, a role he had in the making of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings films (2001 - 2003) as part of Weta Digital. His immediate co-workers included Joe Letteri, Randall William Cook, Christian Rivers, and Jon Labrie.
Biography[]
Rygiel was born in Wisconsin, U.S.A. After receiving degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Otis College of Art and Design, Rygiel's career in the film and animation industries took him to Digital Productions, Pacific Data Images, and Boss Film Studios.
Currently, he works for FuseFX, based in Los Angeles.
