J.R.R. Tolkien - Creator of Middle-earth is the first documentary in the Extended Edition appendices, specifically disc 3 "From Book to Vision", to Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Featuring Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Humphrey Carpenter, some Tolkienian authors, and others, the 21-minute documentary recounts J.R.R. Tolkien's early life to the conception, success, and phenomenon of The Lord of the Rings, and discusses its central themes and struggles.
It is followed by "From Book to Script".
