Isumbras IV Took was a hobbit of the Shire and the twenty-eighth Shire-thain. He was also one of the many uncles of Bilbo Baggins.
Biography[]
Isumbras was the third child of Gerontius Took and Adamanta Chubb. He came from a large family of eleven other brothers and sisters: Isengrim, Hildigard, Hildigrim, Hildifons, Isembard, Hildibrand, Belladonna, Donnamira, Mirabella, and Isengar. He was the father of Fortinbras Took and the grandfather of Ferumbras Took. As Shire-thain, he ruled from TA 2930 to his death in TA 2939.[1]
