Hans Georg Conried, Jr. (April 15, 1917 – January 5, 1982) was an American comedian, character actor and voice actor who provided the voice of Thorin Oakenshield in the 1977 animated adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.
Career[]
He is best known for providing the voices and modeled for Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in Disney's version of Peter Pan and as the live action reference for King Stefan and possibly as the uncredited voice of Lord Duke (aka The Royal Herald) in Sleeping Beauty. Hans is also known as the voice of Snidely Whiplash on The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, for playing the title role as Dr. Terwilliker in The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T, as well as his work as Uncle Tonoose on Danny Thomas's sitcom Make Room for Daddy.
