This is one of the many halls in Elrond's house at Rivendell. It receives its name from the fact a fire burned continually in it. This is the location in the Fellowship of the Ring novel where Frodo first encounters Bilbo since their last joint birthday party in the Shire. It is also where he finds out that not only does Bilbo know Aragorn, but they are friends.
Although the Hall of Fire was never used during the day, at night it was a gathering spot for all that visted Rivendell. With in its walls, many songs where sung and stories told.

The Hall of Fire is also the name of a fan based webzine for the Lord of the Rings RPG. Its chief editor is Matthew A. Kearns (aka GandalfOfBorg).
