The One Wiki to Rule Them All
This article refers to the Steward of Gondor. For other namesakes, see Húrin (disambiguation).

Húrin II was the fourteenth Ruling Steward of Gondor.

Biography[]

Born in TA 2515[1], Húrin II was the son of Hallas. Húrin II succeeded his father as Steward in TA 2605. Sporadic warfare on Gondor's eastern and southern borders continued. Other than minor skirmishes no events are recorded during his rule. Húrin II died in TA 2628 after twenty-three years of rule at the age of 113 years old. He was followed by his son Belecthor I.[1]

Etymology[]

Húrin was named after a host of ancestors and great heroes: Húrin I, his ancestor, Húrin of Emyn Arnen, the founder of the House of Húrin, and Húrin Thalion, hero of the First Age and father of Túrin Turambar.

The name Húrin means "Steadfast" in Sindarin.[2]
