Gus Hunter is a digital artist and frequent designer for films and exhibits.

In 2000, he joined Wētā Workshop led by Richard Taylor, becoming Senior Concept Designer in the production of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, serving as Photoshop artist.

He made digital concept art or color studies for moments such as Frodo's vision of apparitions in the Dead Marshes, in The Two Towers (2001), of Rivendell under moonlight seen in flashbacks, of Isengard deforested, and others.[1][2][3] His immediate co-workers included Paul Lasaine, Roger Kupelian, Max Dennison, and Yanick Dusseault.
