The Greater Gelion was the larger of the two sources of the river Gelion in Beleriand.[1]

The Greater Gelion's origin was Mount Rerir; it ran southeast near Maglor's Gap until joining the river Gelion about seventy-five miles from its source.[2]

Gelion was a Sindarin word[3] of unspecified meaning.
