Gondolinic Runes were an Elves runic writing system used in Gondolin, in early versions of J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium.

Conceptual history

Gondolinic Runes were the first runic system invented by Tolkien, who created them in the first half of 1920s. It was one of his few scripts to include lowercase letters.
