Gino Acevedo was a senior prosthetics supervisor at Weta Workshop and creature VFX art director at Weta Digital in the production of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001 - 2003). Some of his work from the conceptualization stages of the production is featured in Gary Russell's "The Art of" series.

Involvement[]

Acevedo also acted one of the seven dwarf-lords, given the name Sindri, in the prologue to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and towards the end of The Return of the King he portrays one of the Corsairs of Umbar whom Aragorn encounters.

In the production of The Two Towers, Acevedo was trained in digital painting to help render the skin details of Gollum.

Acevedo later served on the production of The Hobbit trilogy (2012 - 2014) as a textures supervisor of Weta Digital.

Through Weta Digital, he has been involved in other films such as James Cameron's Avatar (2009), Prometheus, Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, and Steven Spielberg's The BFG (2016).
