The Gate of Writhen Iron was the fourth of the Seven Gates of Gondolin.

This gate had a high, unlit black wall below four iron towers. Between the two middle towers was set great iron eagle. The gate itself was of three layers, each wrought in the likeness of trees and flowers.[1]
