Freda was the daughter of one Morwen and sister of Éothain, commonfolk in the Westfold of Rohan during the War of the Ring.
The character was invented for Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), and is portrayed by New Zealand actress Olivia Tennet.
Biography[]
During the escalation of the War of the Ring, Freda and her older brother Éothain were sent by their mother to alert King Théoden that Wild-men of Dunland had begun raiding Rohan. Upon arriving at Edoras, Freda and Éothain were kept safe until Théoden led his people to Helm's Deep. They were reunited there with their mother.
