Fisher Blue was a Kingfisher from the Hobbit poem Bombadil Goes Boating.
Biography[]
Fisher Blue was flying above a river, and came across Tom Bombadil. The King-fisher asked Tom to bring him back the tidings of the place that Tom was going, and Tom refused. Fisher Blue, mad, threatened to tip his boat; and Tom said that if he tried he would chop off his beak and use it as a weather-vane. The King-fisher left.[1]
Later, the Otter-folk found Tom's boat, docked along the side, and loosed it; Willow-wren, Fisher Blue, and the Old Swan help; and then they waited for Tom to find them. But Tom already left for home by land before they loosed his boat, and so they waited there for a long time.[1]
