Thomas Karukoski (born December 29, 1976 in Cyprus), known as Dome Karukoski, is a preeminent film director in Finland who has won dozens of awards and directed many Finnish blockbusters such as Beauty and the Bastard, Lapland Odyssey, and Heart of a Lion in his 13-year career. In 2013 he was the first Finnish director to be named among Variety magazine's "Top Ten Directors to Watch" ranking.

In 2018 - 2019 Karukoski directed Tolkien, a biographical film starring Nicholas Hoult about J.R.R. Tolkien, his future wife Edith Bratt, and the forming of the Tea Club, Barrovian Society during World War One. It is Karukoski's first film in English, filmed in Liverpool, England and released in May 2019 by Searchlight Pictures.
