Twizel is a large plain in New Zealand at which scenes were shot for the Pelennor Fields and Minas Morgul in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. It also represented the Iron Hills in a deleted scene of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.[citation needed]
