In The Hobbit film trilogy, Feren was a Silvan Elf among King Thranduil's guards.

He is not from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

In adaptations[]

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit[]

In the year TA 2941, Feren accompanies Legolas Greenleaf to prevent Thorin II Oakenshield and his company of Dwarves from escaping the Woodland Realm in wooden barrels down the Forest River. He receives orders from Legolas to blow the horn which alerts the guards to shut the water gate to prevent the Dwarves from leaving. However, their efforts fail when Bolg and his company of Orcs ambush the Elves while Kíli, who is shot in the leg, manages to reopen the gate and escape.

He later brings a message to Legolas outside Lake-town and again to Thranduil in Dale, where Thranduil orders him to blow his horn and summon his troops.

Feren is portrayed by Simon London in both The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
