This article is about the video game character. For the son of Borin, see Farin.

Portrayal in adaptations

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Farin's first taste of war was at the Battle of the Five Armies. Following this, he became one of the foremost defenders of his homeland. A true son of a warlike race, Farin was skilled in the use of all melee weapons and adept with a crossbow. While he strikes punishing blows, his greatest strength lies in his ability to endure harm. In battle, Farin is an unyielding rock upon which waves of enemies break. The sound of his fierce war-cry bolsters his allies, even as it strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies. He fought alongside Andriel, Eradan and Beleram, one of the Great Eagles, during the War of the Ring.[1]

Appearances

Farin was created for the game The Lord of the Rings: War in the North and does not appear in the books. He was presumably modeled after Tolkien's character Gimli.
