Faramir Took was a Hobbit of the Shire and the son of Peregrin Took and Diamond of Long Cleeve, and the thirty-third Thain of the Shire.
Biography
Faramir was born in FO 10 (SR 1430) and he later married Goldilocks Gardner, the third daughter of Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton in FO 42 (SR 1463). He became Thain of the Shire in FO 63 (SR 1484) after his father and Meriadoc Brandybuck left for Edoras and Gondor in that year. Pippin named Faramir Took after Faramir, Steward of Gondor and Prince of Ithilien.[1][2]
