Faramir Took was a Hobbit of the Shire and the son of Peregrin Took and Diamond of Long Cleeve.

Faramir was born in FO 10 (SR 1430) and he later married Goldilocks Gardner, the third daughter of Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton. He became Thain of the Shire after when his father and Meriadoc Brandybuck left for Edoras and Gondor in FO 63 (SR 1484). Pippin named Faramir Took after Faramir, brother of Boromir.
