Elfstan Fairbairn was a hobbit of the Shire, the only son of Fastred of Greenholm and Elanor Gardner (a daughter of Samwise Gamgee). He was the second Warden of Westmarch.
Biography[]
Elfstan was born in Under-towers in the Westmarch of the Shire in FO 33 (1454 by Shire Reckoning) - three years after his parents' marriage. He also had a younger sister, Fíriel Fairbairn. His maternal grandparents were Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton.[1]
