Elfhelm was a noble man in Theoden's court, with the title of Marshal. He was born in TA 2845. During the War of the Ring, he fought in the Battles of the Fords of Isen with Théodred and Grimbold. He also led a company under Theoden when they rode to Gondor to help them in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. His company also happened to be the company that Eowyn, under the guise of Dernhelm, and Merry, were in during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

Elfhelm as depicted in The Lord of the Rings Online.
In the live-action adaptation of Return of the King, Elfhelm's role in events is omitted. The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game later attributed his name to an extra briefly appearing in the background. The only video game to include Elfhelm so far is The Lord of the Rings Online, where he is first met during First Battle of the Fords of Isen.
