Elf-fathers was the title given to Imin, Tata, and Enel (Quenya; one, two, and three, respectively), the first three Elves to be awakened at Cuiviénen by Eru Ilúvatar. The three are the founders (fathers) of the first three Elven clans, or tribes: the Minyar, the Tatyar, and the Nelyar (Quenya; firsts, seconds, and thirds, respectively).[1] The Minyar, Tatyar, and Nelyar tribes later became known, respectively, as the Vanyar, the Ñoldor, and the Teleri.[2]
