Elentir was a Númenórean nobleman.
History[]
Elentir was the son Númendil, the seventeenth Lord of Andúnië and the leader of The Faithful's faction in Númenor, and the younger brother of Amandil. Elentir was in love and betrothed with Míriel, the daughter of King Tar-Palantir. However, she was forced to marry her firts cousin Pharazôn, despite this marriage was forbidden by the laws of Númenor.[1]
Etymology[]
Elentir means "star-gazer" in Quenya.
Other versions of the legendarium[]
In another version of the tale, Míriel became infatuated by Pharazôn's beauty and wealth and she chose to marry him voluntarily.[1]
