Eagle's Eyrie was a principle home of the Eagles in the Third Age.
It was located at a high point on the eastside of the Misty Mountains, facing Rhovanion, between the Rushdown and the Old Forest Road. It was approximately thirty-five miles from the Carrock near Beorn's hall.[1][2][3][4]
History
Thorin and Company were rescued by the Lord of the Eagles on July 19, 2941, and taken to the eyrie, where they spent the night.[5]
Whether Gwaihir and other Eagles who appear in The Lord of the Rings still dwelt at the eyrie is unknown.
