Dor Daidelos, also known as The Region of Everlasting Cold, was a vast and barren wasteland north of the Ered Engrin during the First Age. It was created shortly after Melkor's retreat in the First War before the Spring of Arda.[1]

Nearly half of this land was destroyed after Melkor's final defeat in the War of Wrath. The area that remained became known as the Northern Waste. A tribe of Men known as "Forodwaith", who learned to adapt to these frozen conditions, lived here.
