David Wenham is an Australian actor who played the role of Faramir in Peter Jackson's The Two Towers and The Return of the King. Wenham is one of the actors who afterwards voiced their character in The Return of the King video game; an opportunity Wenham enjoyed.
Wenham greatly valued participating in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He auditioned for the part because Faramir is the Captain of Gondor, a great swordsman and archer, and a thinker.
