Quickbeam in the Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Bregalad (Quickbeam) was a relatively young Ent at the time of the War of the Ring, roughly "middle aged" and not nearly as old as Treebeard (though he was a full adult; there had been no Ent children since the disappearance of the Entwives). He guarded Rowan trees, and as such he resembled a rowan himself. He was one of Skinbark's people and as such made his home on the mountain-slopes west of Isengard until Orcs cut down that forest, then he moved to an ent-house near Derndingle in Fangorn forest.

At the Entmoot, Bregalad lived up to his reputation for hastiness; he was the first to decide to attack Isengard, since Saruman's orcs had destroyed many of his rowan groves. Seeing that Bregalad's mind was already made up, Treebeard sent him to watch over Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took while the debate among the other Ents continued. He sang and laughed with the Hobbits; they stayed at his ent-house near Derndingle, where the Entmoot was held.

Bregalad later played an important role in the attack on Isengard, nearly capturing Saruman himself. After the flooding of Isengard, he stood guard at the foot of the stairs of Orthanc.

Appearances in adaptations

Quickbeam's appearance in The Lord of the Rings Online.

Although Quickbeam does not expressly appear in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film adaptation, there is a "Rowan Ent" seen in the film that many fans have taken to be Quickbeam pared down to a non-speaking role.

In The Lord of the Rings Online Quickbeam is found in the grove near Nan Curunir mourning the loss of his tree-friends. He is asking the player to exact vengeance upon Orcs and Uruks and deprive them of the means to hurt even more trees.

Etymology

His Sindarin name translates roughly as "Quickbeam" (from bragol "sudden" and galad "tree"). He received this name when he said "yes" before another Ent had finished asking a question; this showed that he was unusually "hasty" for his race.
