Blunt the Knives is the fourth soundtrack of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

This song originally appeared in The Hobbit novel. The Dwarves sing this when Bilbo warns them not to break his utensils, at Bag End during their dining. Ori initiates the song when he says "Excuse me sir...but what should I do with my plate." Fili then says "Here you go, Ori give it to me." Fili passes it to his brother, Kili and the song starts.

Blunt the Knives Lyrics (Movie Version):

☀"Can you not do that? You blunt them!

Ooooh! You hear that?
He said we'll blunt the knives!

Blunt the knives, bend the forks
Smash the bottles and burn the corks
Chip the glasses and crack the plates
That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!

Cut the cloth, tread on the fat
Leave the bones on the bedroom mat
Pour the milk on the pantry floor
Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowls
Pound them up with a thumping pole
When you're finished if they are whole
Send them down the hall to roll!"

Blunt the Knives Lyrics (Book Version)

Chip the glasses and crack the plates!

   Blunt the knives and bend the forks!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates-

   Smash the bottles and burn the corks!

Cut the cloth, tread on the fat!

   Pour the milk on the pantry floor!

Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!

   Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;

   Pound them up with a thumping pole;

And when you've finished, if any are whole,

   Send them down the hall to roll!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!

So, carefully! carefully with the plates!
