Can someone tell me if Elrond's brother, Elros is in the the Desolation of Smaug. Or did Peter Jackson design another character, like a warden of Greenwood The Great?

Lego Azog minifigure!
An exclusive Azog minifigure is being given away randomly at San Diego Comic Con. You might be thinking....dang it! It's exclusive?!? Dont worry too much, a "exclusive" Bilbo baggins minifigure was released last year and we got that in the Bag End lego set, so there is a possibility we will be seeing azog in a future set.
New Desolation of Smaug BTS Video

Sir Ian McKellan Finishes Filming
Good and sad news, Tolkien movie fans! Today, one of the principal cast members finished filming and Peter Jackson felt it was necessary to commemorate the time Sir Ian McKellen spent on set as Gandalf with a farewell photo!
McKellen will have been Gandalf for SIX films when all of The Hobbit movies finally come out, and Jackson captioned the photo "Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf. The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I'm feeling very sad right now."
We are too! McKellen made a great Gandalf so, while it's exciting to see that the movies are finishing up, it's sad to see our great wizard hang up his cloak! We wonder who's going to play Gandalf in twenty years when Hollywood decides to do a remake of LOTR... …
Hobbit Extended Edition details revealed
In a recent interview, the good Peter Jackson revealed a bit of what we can expect from the Extended Edition Hobbit DVD/Blu-Ray that will most likely find its way to shelves before the holiday season, purportedly in november, a month prior to The Desolation of Smaug's release.
Here's what Jackson told Empire Magazine:
"You are going to get some serious Dwarvish disrespect of the elves at Rivendell," says Jackson.
"You are going to get more of Hobbiton," says producer / co-writer Philippa Boyens. "We always wanted to wend our way through Hobbiton, but in the end Bilbo has to run out of the door.""You are going to get more Goblin Town, and the Great Goblin singing his song," adds Fran Walsh, Jackson's other half and fellow screenwriter. "It is …

First Look at Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel
Check it out, The Hobbit fans! It's been some time since we've heard anything new about The Hobbit movie trilogy, but Entertainment Weekly has just released a first look at Evangeline Lilly as the warrior-elf Tauriel!
According to the actress, "[Tauriel is] slightly reckless and totally ruthless and doesn’t hesitate to kill." She also hinted at some romance by saying, "[Tauriel] will definitely have a love story. I can’t give away too much about it. It’s not a huge focus but it is there and it is important and it does drive Tauriel and her story and her actions."
Check out more of what Lilly has to say about the new character here!

Concerning the Blue Istari
I have just figured out something about the notoriously mysterious Blue Wizards. They were sent by the Valar Orome, who was a great huntsman. They have some pictures depicting them with bows and arrows. Does this mean that, not only being wizards, the Blue Wizards were also great hunters? That would be pretty cool. Also Alatar's alternate name Morinehtar which means Darkness-Slayer could also mean that they had some hunting/fighting skills. Perhaps they slew the men of darkness in the east? I just thought i would share this with you people, as some people might not know.
Expanding the Wiki
I think there should be sub-pages of this wiki that have information on the games that are Tolkien related. Is this possible for someone to do?

TheHistories of Middle Earth
Hey guys! So I was re-reading all of my LOTR books (fellowship of the ring, two towers, return of the king and the hobbit) and somehow felt that it was time to read all 12 books of the history of middle earth. I know, from my own research on the Internet, many of the tales on the War of the ring happen in these 12 books as well. Since I haven't read any of those 12 books, I'd like to ask you guys in which order I should read them and/or if it is worth them all at all, since many of its tales are also found in the Silmarillion(which I also haven't read/ wanna read), meaning that I wouldn't really need to read them all, because they "overlap" each other. Just to clear sth out, I am not only interested in the tales about the war of the ring b…
Community Interview w/ Martin Freeman

I wanted to point out a cool video where Martin Freeman, aka Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey answers questions posed to him by the LOTR community (aka, you guys). Check out the video, and get back to me with any questions or feedback about the video.
Meanwhile, enjoy the interview!

The Chest in the troll cave
Hey there, just putting my little theroy out there, but i was thinking as i watched the hobbit for a third time, that the chest full of gold, which Bilbo(old), talks about in his conversation with frodo, at the start of the movie, is the same chest as the one in the troll cave. The chest which some of the dwarfs find stashed to the brim with gold, which they bury for "safe keeping, as a long-term deposit". Bilbo claims this the only gold he got from the adventure with the dwarfs and Gandalf. I may be wrong, as this is just a myth, but maybe the dwarfs gave it to him as his share after defeating Smaug.
Ask Martin Freeman The Hobbit Questions
Calling all The Hobbit fans, we have an amazing opportunity for you! Wikia will be conducting a community interview with Martin Freeman who plays Bilbo Baggins in the The Hobbit trilogy. Post your questions in the comments, and we'll ask the best ones.
What was it like playing Bilbo Baggins? What's it like working with Peter Jackson? Has he heard THIS SONG?
If you have any burning questions about The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, now is your time to ask. We only ask that questions be related to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and not any of the upcoming films. We wouldn't want to get Mr. Freeman in trouble!
Black Arrow theory
I find the similarities between the black arrow and Gurthang very big to be a coincidence. I believe that the sword and the arrow used to kill two of the most famous dragons where actually made of the same material.
The top of a dragon is suposed to be hard as mithril and its underside is descrived as "weaker" and mithril is one if not the strongest materials in Arda, so a dragons underside could still be very strong. I believe that if a dragon`s underside was made of thin and weak skin then Smaug would have been killed while attacking Dale because he did not have his "precious coat" and he certanly took many arrows, even maybe in the region where he would then be pierced by the black arrow, so we can guess that his underside can be as stro…
Hi! let me introduce myself...
Hi! I'm new to LOTR wiki but I am very experienced over at the Merlin Wiki. I would like to take the time to introduce myself.
My username is Merlin artist, I am reasonably talented at art for my age. My real name is Lucy and I am 13 years old. I live in the UK. I am rather clever and get top grades at everything but P.E (I'm trying not to boast). My favourite character from LOTR is Legolas, this is not just because Orlando Bloom portrayed him.
That's pretty much all the basic information about me, if you have a question I quess you could leave a comment. I hope this is not too weird/odd/not the right thing to do but I did not know what was the best way to introduce myself to thiss community.
Anyway, bye for now!

Every time it seems like I fixed something to improve, *Bam* there's always something else to improve, and it could be driving people nuts!
What's wrong with me?
What will they do with Bolg?
What do you think will happen to Bolg in the upcoming Desolation of Smaug film? Will they have killed off Azog by then? I know that they made him as a prison torturerer or something. I think that azog will maybe die in the desolation of smaug, perhaps the same kind of way he died in the appendices (by Dain II Ironfoot) and Bolg will avenge him, or maybe they will both be present at the Battle of Five Armies. Post your thoughts and ideas here.
P.S i wonder how they will portray Bolg's Bodyguards

Gorkil the Goblin King in The Desolation of Smaug
I came across something on IMDb which states that Gorkil the Goblin King will appear in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It says that he will be played by Barry Humphries.[1]
It calls him "Gorkin the Goblin king" and says that he will be a successor to the Great Goblin.
another link to Barry Humphries IMDb page [2]
showing his role playing Gorkil in The Hobbit: The desolation of Smaug
i think that when thet call him "gorkin" is just a typo or mistake.
The Hobbit - Review Roundup
In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins returns to the screen in a prequel of epic proportions. As the home-loving Hobbit lives his quiet life eating out of antique china and reading, he gets interrupted by Gandalf the Grey with quite the proposition. Gandalf's Fireworks were all the Hobbit remembered of the wizard when he was a lad, and while he dismissed all that Gandalf would say, he did not account for the resulting adventure when the Dwarves started to show up. Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro take the reigns of direction in this one.
Most of the reviews that have come out already are very mixed indeed, some citing that there's not enough source material to make it as epic as the first trilogy of Middle-Earth movies. The Hobbit is one small bo…

EW Goes into The Hobbit
This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly goes deep into The Hobbit and gives fans a look into the film trilogy with interviews with the star, Martin Freeman, and Peter Jackson.
Check out the EW covers below! Which is your favorite?
When the decision was made to make the book into a trilogy, Freeman says, “At first, I must say, I was like, ‘Why?’ [but then] You kind of think, ‘I’ve already put this much of my life into two movies. What am I going to do now – not put it into three?’ In for a penny, in for a pound.”
According to EW, Jackson says (about his decision) "that, with the addition of some 120 pages of additional material Tolkien wrote in the appendices to The Lord of the Rings elaborating on the story of The Hobbit, he has made the right …

A Hobbit/Goonies Movie Trailer Mashup
One of my favorite movies as a kid was The Goonies. The Lord Of the Rings movies have been some of my favorite as an adult. Based on the previous two sentences, I'm obviously a nerd, so I decided that in honor of the Hobbit being released that I would make this trailer mashup. I used footage from the Goonies and mashed it with the audio from the initial trailer to The Hobbit. Please share and enjoy!

A Hobbit Thanksgiving
There are few things Hobbits enjoy more than eating, what with second breakfasts and Elevensees and such. So what would a proper Hobbit serve on a huge eating day like Thanksgiving? We looked around for the best Hobbit and Middle Earth recipes, and pulled a few that we thought would make for a fun and delicious Turkey Day to rule them all.
Thanks to the LOTR Fan Club Scrapbook's recipe collection (http://lotrscrapbook.bookloaf.net/other/recipes.html) and the Warner Bros. official Hobbit movie recipes page (http://apps.warnerbros.com/thehobbit/recipes/us/) for the great ideas.

Adventure Dream Team: Winner Announced
The users have spoken (with their votes) and the winner of Wikia’s “Adventure Dream Team” bracket tournament has been crowned. The honor goes to Frodo the 9 fingered and his “Fellowship of Awesomeness.”
—Frodo the 9 fingered
This team’s composition was deemed by the Wikia community as the perfect mix of fictional characters (both good and evil) to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mt. Doom -- easily overcoming any obstacle thrown in its way. And obstacles the team did face.
“The Fellowship of Awesomeness” survived 12 elimination rounds (which raked in an impressive 6,500 votes total) and managed to eek out the highest winning percentage of votes in any round -- an impressive 92.3 percent in the fourth round alone. The team is comprised of …
