Sir William Connolly (b. November 24, 1942), better known as Billy Connolly, is a famous Scottish actor and comedian who played Dáin II Ironfoot in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. He has also appeared in many other famous Hollywood films, including The Last Samurai, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Boondock Saints, Disney's animated blockbuster Brave and many more.

- In an interview with Conan O'Brien, Connolly stated that he is not a fan of Tolkien and his Middle-earth novels, and that he has never read The Hobbit.
- He was knighted in the 2017 Queen's Honours List, and joked that he might change his name to Lancelot, since "'Sir Billy' doesn't have quite the same ring."
