Bay Raitt c. 2002
Bay Raitt was lead facial designer of Weta Digital in the production (2000 - 2002) of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, under the supervision of Christian Rivers and then Joe Letteri.
Raitt had an important role in the complicated computer rendition of Gollum, whom Andy Serkis would portray through performance-capture technology. Raitt worked with sculptor Jamie Beswarick on unifying Andy Serkis' face and expressions with the computer model of Gollum that had already been made, to produce a sculpture showing how Gollum's new face would appear.[1]
Raitt has since been an animator for the Portal and Left 4 Dead game series, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, and Dota 2.
He is currently a video game animator and modeler.
