Avarin was the language spoken by the Avari.
Conceptual history[]
Lemberin, or Lembian, was a name in early versions of the legendarium for the Avarin languages. It was spoken by the Lembi Elves, and was the most scattered and diverse among the languages.[1]
In the early writings, the Quendian (Elvish) languages were divided into three: the Eldarin, Ilkorin, and Lemberin.
The Sindarin names Thranduil, Legolas, Amroth, and Nimrodel were considered as Lemberin. Celeborn's native tongue was originally Lemberin, but was later changed to Telerin.[2]
