Astrid was a woman of the Southlands in the Second Age.
Biography[]
Astrid was forced to flee from her home in the Southlands of Middle-earth when a force of Orcs attacked, and came to be on a ship that was destroyed by a creature known only as "the worm". She and five others, including Halbrand, Eamon, and Abigail, survived by forming a raft from its wreckage. After discovering the Elf Galadriel, whom they first took to be a human, Astrid first noticed the worm returning. It destroyed the raft, and with the exception of Galadriel and Halbrand, killed all on board.

Astrid's character was created for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and as such is non-canonical. Astrid is portrayed in the series' second episode by Jane Montgomery Griffiths.
