Anar was a Dwarf from Nordinbad, who came to Mount Gundabad under the lead of Nordri.
He is a character invented for the 2013 video game War in the North.
Biography[]
Little is told of Anar's life - he was a secret refugee of the Longbeards, among those who went to Mount Gundabad with a few dwarfs under the command of Nodri and Bruni and were ambushed by Gundabad Orcs. Anar was pierced by two arrows in this ambush, but survived.
When Andriel, Eradan, and Farin enter Mount Gundabad, they find that only Anar survived. At first, Anar thinks they are Orcs and asks them to kill him. When he realizes otherwise, he tells them of an ancient weapon, and of Nordinbad. When Andriel, Eradan, and Farin ask Anar for more details, and about Agandaûr, he breathes his last and dies from the poison of the arrows.
Behind the scenes[]
His name could be inspired by the homonymous dwarf present in the early drafts of The Lord of the Rings from the 1940s.
