This article is about the plant. For the weapon of Gil-galad, see Aeglos. |
Aeglos, also known as Snowthorn, was a plant that grew on Amon Rûdh in West Beleriand during the First Age.[1]
Aeglos was similar to furze, but was larger, with white flowers. In Narn i Chin Hurin, J.R.R. Tolkien described it as a long-legged, sweet-smelling plant creating gloomy "aisles" beneath the roof of branches. Tolkien also compared it to the yellow-flowering gorse bushes that grew in Ithilien.
