Abigail was a woman from the Southlands of Middle-earth, who lived during the Second Age. She does not appear in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and is therefore considered non-canonical.
Biography[]
Abigail is one of several castaways adrift in the Sundering Seas, along with Halbrand and Eamon. They hail from the Southlands of Middle-earth, but were forced to flee due to Orc attacks. Their ship was destroyed by a creature known only as "the worm" and they are stranded on the wreckage when Galadriel swims nearby.
Abigail takes pity on Galadriel, believing her to be a fellow woman, and helps her up and gives her fresh water to drink. However, Eamon and other suspicious castaways discover that Galadriel is an Elf, and Abigail believes she has been deceived. Just at that moment, a ship approaches, though it is actually their own ship being dragged by the worm. All except Halbrand and Galadriel are lost at sea in the ensuing attack by the worm.
Behind the scenes[]
Abigail was created for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, in which she is portrayed by Virginie Laverdure.
