A Shadow Lies Between Us is the name of the song sung by Liv Tyler during the "Houses of Healing" scene in the extended edition of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Originally, the song was intended for The Two Towers scene in which Arwen has a vision of her and Aragorn's child; the scene was placed in the third movie and Renee Fleming was given a song instead, as the filmmakers thought audiences might find it odd to hear Liv Tyler's voice while seeing Arwen silent on-screen.
