Éomund was a Man of Rohan, and the chief captain of the Éothéod under Eorl the Young.[1]
Biography[]
In TA 2510, he presumably rode with Eorl to the Battle of the Field of Celebrant, where the Éothéod rescued Cirion, the Steward of Gondor, and his forces from the Balchoth. Afterwards, Éomund accompanied Eorl to Halifirien, where Eorl swore a great oath to Cirion, and the steward in return swore an oath to come to the aid of the Éothéod. Additionally, Cirion gave the region of Calenardhon to the Éothéod as their own country, and in this Éomund assisted in defining the boundaries.[1]
