Orodreth fu il sedicesimo Sovrintendente Regnante di Gondor. Successe al padre Belecthor I alla sua morte nel 2655 della Terza Era.
Etimologia[]
Come molti Sovrintendenti di Gondor Orodreth fu chiamato così in onore di un gran eroe della Prima Era, in particolare l'elfo Orodreth, Signore del Nargothrond.
In Sindarin, "Orodreth" significa letteralmente "abitatore delle montagne" dalla radice orod ("montagna").
Biografia[]
Orodreth nacque nel TE 2576, figlio di Belecthor I. Dopo la morte del padre, nel TE 2655, assunse il titolo di Sovrintendente di Gondor.
Regnò in un periodo apparentemente pacifico della storia di Gondor, privo di eventi significativi, benchè la minaccia dei Corsari di Umbar andasse aumentando.
Morì nel TE 2685, a 109 anni di età. Alla sua morte suo figlio Ecthelion I divenne Sovrintendente.
