Belecthor I fu il quindicesimo Sovrintendente Regnante di Gondor. Successe al padre Hurin II alla sua morte nel 2628 della Terza Era.
Etimologia[]
Il nome "Belecthor" deriva probabilmente dal Sindarin beleg "poderoso" e thor(on) "aquila", e significa quindi "acquila possente".
Biografia[]
Belecthor nacque a Minas Tirith nel TE 2545 da Húrin II, durante il regno del suo bisnonno Cirion.
Alla morte del padre, nel TE 2628, ereditò il titolo di Sovrintendente di Gondor. Benchè all'epoca i Corsari di Umbar fossero la minaccia più grande per Gondor, nessun evento rilevante accadde durante il suo regno.
Belecthor si sposò ed ebbe due figli: Morwen e Orodreth.
Morì nel TE 2655 e alla sua morte suo figlio Orodreth divenne Sovrintendente.
