Even though I'm on the first book of the Lord of The Rings, I'm just wondering am I supposed to read The Silmarillion before I read the Lord of The Rings?
Like what @ArwenUdomiel said, Legolas killing Wormtongue was an addition that Jackson added. Legolas killed Wormtongue because I heard somewhere that Legolas was one short of Gimli.
Thank you! The reason I asked this question is because I read in an article that the Lord of The Rings was based on the roots from The Silmarillion.

A few other good ones that Sam said would be, “ I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you!” Also, “ I wonder if people will ever say, "Let's hear about Frodo and the Ring." And they'll say, "Yes, that's one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn't he, Dad?" "Yes, m'boy, the most famousest of hobbits. And that's saying a lot.” I got the last one from Goodreads, since I couldn’t remember the entire thing.
Frodo: “ What are we holding onto, Sam?
Sam: “ That there’s some good in this world, Mr.Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.”
@ArwenUdomiel I don’t know if Ian Holm read the books, but he was Frodo on the BBC Radio in 1980.
I'm actually surprised that John Rhys-Davies was born in 1944. He honestly looks young for a 76 year old person.
It’s obviously Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens.
@SailorPlanetos Thank you!
Since Tauriel liked Kili, and Arwen liked Aragorn, has Legolas ever liked anyone before?
@Cornelius Scipio Africanus Peter decided to put Tauriel in the movies because there weren’t any strong females. So, it is because of feminist reasons.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Since Frodo went back to the Shire at the end of the journey and went to the Undying Lands to heal, does he stay at the Undying Lands permanently, or does he go back to the Shire? He hands the book to Sam, so that's what makes me think that he stays at the Undying Lands permanently.
I don’t think that they should remake it because both Ian Holm and Christopher Lee died. I don’t know why, but I think that it would be kind of disrespectful I guess.
I don’t know if anyone said this similarity yet, and I haven’t read the LOTR books yet, so I don’t know if they act differently in the books. I have watched the movies though. When I was watching the movies, I noticed that J. K Rowling probably based Peter Pettigrew completely off of Wormtongue. The reason I believe that is because Peter and Wormtongue both work for the villain, so they’re technically Voldemort and Saruman’s “pets”. The reason I call them pets is because they do whatever the villain tells them to do. Also, both of them seems to be second in command.
Both, even though I didn’t read the LOTR series. I watched the movies.
The reason why I wanted to create a group chat for this page is because I thought that it would be a quick way to make friends.
@Stijn bekkers You’re kidding right?
Ok
