I finally found proof that they are connected:

I think your story should maybe either take place in the 2nd age, before LotR, or after LotR in Valinor, and maybe somehow Ren was able to come to Valinor without being a elf or ringbearer.
There are two ways to read Tolkiens works. Here is the first way: The Hobbit, then The Lord of the Rings trilogy, then The Adventures of Tom Bombadil (if you like poetry), The Silmarillion, The Great Tales Trilogy (which is three books, The Children of Hurin, Beren and Luthien), and finally Unfinished Tales. If you like some less complicated works by Tolkien I would recommend reading Tolkiens books this way: The Hobbit, The History of the Hobbit, Roverandom, and Tales from the Perilous Realm.

A goblin is a smaller sized orc, and Azog was the leader of both orcs and goblins, so Azog could be classified as a big goblin, or a orc.

The Space Trilogy is my favorite book series (Besides the Middle Earth Books) I have read all three of the books and I love them! I am currently reading The Dark Tower and Other Stories, a unfinished manuscript in The Space Trilogy series. My favorite book is probably Perelandra.
