Tbh, the best thing for a Tolkien nerd is finding someone who also likes Tolkien. I was at a party yesterday and heard the words lotr and Silmarillion and nerded out for like 20 min. Made my year.
I pity Smeagol, not Gollum.

My favorite soundtrack is osgiliath invaded, but to your question I would say the soundtrack “a knife in the dark”. I feel the Howard Shore really gives us a feeling of fear and dread as the nazgul come.
Im not a musical expert so I can’t say what kind of instruments they are using to achieve this sound, but nevertheless this is my opinion.
When the oliphants plows through the rohirrom with their tusks.
I’d try not to but I would probably not be able to not take it.
Nope. I listen to osgiliath invaded almost everyday, especially the end.
”Not all those who wander are lost”.
Nope. Maybe for like 2 seconds.
Go to the appendices of lord of the rings. there are lots of different tales and stuff, and there you will find Aragorn and Arwen👍
I would say medium-easy. The truly hard stuff though (in my opinion) is the blood lines and different ancestral questions.
Since Tolkien hated analogy, what do you think he would feel if he would see the movies and peoples comments on that I.e Faramir rides towards osgiliath and towards certain death (linking it to his involvement in ww2)?
Sure, I had a problem with Tauriel because she there a simple reason. Love sells. But this, this my friends, is a disgrace. One of the things so great with Tolkien is that he didn’t need sex. Because to be honest, sex does sell.
Pippin the fool.
After. It’s more like stories for you who wants to know more i.e story of Aragorn and Arwen.
If a person person dislikes another person for not liking The Hobbit, they’re idiots. I myself prefer not to read The Hobbit because Lotr and The Silmarillion is more interesting. I agree with you. The hobbit is just less interesting in my opinion.
Read lotr first. Silmarillion is quite a hard read because of the sheer amount of information, names and stories that are being told there. So in my opinion, The Hobbit-> Lord of the Rings-> The Silmarillion-> whatever book you feel like reading (unfinished tales, the children ofHúrin and so on)
Question 1:
The enigma that is Tom bombadil does not appear in the hobbit books. Only in the lotr where he saves the hobbits.
Question 2:
Tom is not a wizard type being. He’s just old. Like really old. Before the trees were in middle earth old. This, I think, is why he is so powerful. I have heard the rumor that he is Eru Illuvitar (basically God) personified.
Other stuff about him (to my knowledge):
He cares nothing about troubles in the world, for example the ring and so on. He would probably loose the ring if it were in his hands.
Also, the has no power over him. It doesn’t make him disappear or anything like that.
(Feel free to correct me if I am wrong somewhere)
Question 1:
All of the people/beings that went on that ship were going to the undying lands. Frodo and bilbo were “special” since they were both ring bearers. Bilbo and Frodo (if I recall correctly) died there. (All of the people on the ship were ring bearers).
2:
Saruman dies in one of the last chapters of the book called “the scouring of the shire”. There the shire has been overrun by creatures lead by saruman and grima. Long story short, grima stabs saruman in the back and so saruman dies.
If any I was off my answers were wrong, don’t hesitate to correct me!
Start with this book. The one and only: Silmarillion
Its kind of the “bible” so to speak. Then there are the 12 line book series called “the history of middle-earth”. Nice collection that is.
