Hey Road Warrior!
Saruman and Gandalf were portrayed brilliantly by their actors.
I think they’re great movies. Very different from the books, but still entertaining to watch.
I would start by watching the Lord of the Rings movies, then reading the books. The Hobbit is a much easier read though, so you could start with that.
^^ That I agree with. The Hobbit movies focus too much on Azog and Thorin.
The books? Nothing.
The movies? Also nothing.
^^ You don’t like the Hobbit movies? I thought they were good, not as good as the LOTR adaptions, but okay.
I’m not a big fan of the anime art style, but it’s LotR, so I’ll be expecting it to be great.
It’s the second film in the Hobbit trilogy.
An Unexpected Journey comes first, then the Desolation of Smaug, and the Battle of the Five Armies is the last film. You must have watched them out of order.
Happy birthday to my favourite actor of all time... and rest in peace.
He would have just been a waste of time, and the movie would have been too long.
I didn’t like how much longer they made the Hobbit. The Lord of the Rings was perfectly adapted but the Hobbit was stretched out, “like butter across too much bread.”
I have high hopes for the series, but I don’t want LotR to become a massive cinematic franchise like Star Wars.
Nine rings for men, *something*
Seven rings for dwarves... in their halls?
Three rings for elves *something*
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all, and in darkness, bind them.
He was hurt, just not mortally wounded. It’s like if I tried to stab someone with a spear, but they held a shield in front of themselves, and it knocked back on them.
(okay, that was a pretty bad explanation).
Four words: It’s an old book
The Shire theme, it’s very cheery and really sets the countryside scene at the start of the film.
And the Fellowship’s theme. The Fellowship’s theme sounds so purposeful and adventurous, it’s prefect for when the camera pans around the mountains.
I never really understood what the Barrow-Wights were.
Of course. I was merely wondering, because I thought I had seen you on another fandom.
I’ll say no, obviously, but in those circumstances, there’s no way I could resist it.
