I ask because I've not seen it (I have no ways to now, as I no longer have Netflix), but I've heard that, to be discreet, it suffers from a similar problem to Rings of Power. Would you guys say that's accurate? If not, is any of the criticism the show got valid from a lore standpoint?

The War of the Rohirrim is not a bad movie. I just saw it and enjoyed it. First of all, it does a good job adapting the story of Tolkien's Apendix. The writing, plot, spectacle and substance is pretty good. The animation while not very good in an action scenes is pretty good in a lot of sections. The suspense is pretty good. The use of the orcs as a sideline is pretty good and superstitions about Helm being used a scare tactic for the Riders of Rohan is a pretty good. The winter aesthetics are also fantastic. The voice overs with Éowyn are great and they do a good job making it clear that the story is a long forgotten tale lost to history.
This film may not be a critically acclaimed anime masterpiece or a major box office success. But it will always be remembered among the other Tolkien adaptations over the years and Middle-Earth Fans who like Anime will see this as a cult classic.
The animation does not seem to be the main problem... the story just isn't compelling or interesting enough, it seems. This pretty much agrees with my expectations.
The reviews themselves aren't of high quality either. Deadline which is usually pretty decent couldn't manage to spell Tolkien's name correctly and spelled it Tolkein in one instance.
It doesn't sound like a bad effort, but probably slots below The Hobbit trilogy for overall watchability.
The storyline is just too boring.

After the last two years, we're finally getting this film. First of all, I've been looking forward to this film because I would love to see another animated Middle Earth Film. Also if this film is a critical and commercial success this could be the route the franchise takes in the future. This film follows an original story taking inspiration from Tolkien's works rather than adapting a hard to adapt deep story he wrote. Also I don't like Peter Jackson's direction, so I'd be happy to see a Middle Earth film that he isn't directing. This film will probably have positive reviews due to Tolkien's bias and if it grosses even 20 million in the United States with a limited release it could make back its budget worldwide. The budget probably isn't very high it's probably only 40 or 50 million. What's the chance this will be a good movie, what are the expectations of the fans?

Apparently it’s set a couple hundred years before The Fellowship Of The Ring and will focus on Helm Hammerhand, what are your thoughts??
