I’m a Junior artist and I’m bored right now so if you have any Tolkien related pencil sketch drawings you might want to see then say in the comments!

JRRT seems to have been much more flexible than Christopher was, based on what is known.

Wow, what is this? It seems that TheOneRing.net is getting a chance to purchase rights to LOTR and The Hobbit, and fans can get to be a part of it as well!

I know that J.R.R Tolkien had composed quite a few languages of his own so is there any website where all his languages are given in detail with grammar and stuff?
Mae Govannen!
At my school, you have to complete a “Senior Research Project” in order to graduate. This entails three different aspects: a presentation, an essay, and a product. I have always been profoundly impacted by that of Tolkien’s writings and of course Peter Jackson’s theatrical interpretations since I grew up watching them, therefore I wanted to make my research project reflect Tolkien and his works.
When asked what a Senior Research Project was, my teacher told us that it demonstrates a senior's ability to apply knowledge and skills, speak, write, problem-solve and practice the life skills of time management, organization and risk-taking. And by doing something Tolkien related, I would be taking a major risk.
I am very involved in art and graphic design so this was my idea... The Visual Representations of the Work of J.R.R. Tolkien: Who Has Done It Best?
I could analyze the competing styles of some of the major artists who made illustrations, animations, and live-action films of Tolkien's work (including Tolkien himself). A presentation could be a Powerpoint and talk analyzing some of the artwork by style and accuracy side-by-side with Tolkien's text. A 20-page report could delve deeper and include Tolkien's own evaluations of the various artists who have drawn his work, as well as a more philosophical question of what it means to "best create" art inspired by text. And the product could be my own original visual representation of Tolkien's work (an illustration, map, even an infographic...), which I'm sure I could create with my design aptitude. (This idea was shared to me from a fellow on Reddit and I really appreciate their help).
Please leave some constructive criticism in the comments and if you have any other ideas, let me know!
Today is Tolkien reading day! Let us all celebrate and read Tolkien´s fantastic books and remember him with honour and love. I wish you all a wonderful day full of Tolkien vibes and reading!
Books, a fascinating thing, you dive into another world and find yourself like you really are. Reading is dreaming with open eyes!
Here are some LOTR, Hobbit etc. quotes:
It is a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don´t keep your feet, there´s no knowing where you might be swept off to.
Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.
It simply isn´t an adventure worth telling if there aren´t any dragons.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
Not all those who wander are lost.
Happy Tolkien reading again dear Tolkienists!
Now I know that Tolkien was not a misogynist, but I had this question posed to me recently and I want to know how you would answer it. Specifically, I am looking for answers from LOTR, although other works are ok too.
Tolkien has been criticized for generally ignoring women in his novels. What do you think?
A charity, Project Northmoor, has recently popped up to buy J.R.R. Tolkien's previous house on 20 Northmoor Street. Here's an in-depth video I made on the matter- https://youtu.be/SpYQvmjgglI
Feel free to ask me any questions about this in the video's comment section.
Hey, y'all! I took some time off from the forum to focus during my first semester in college. When I tried to come back, it seems that Fandom didn't want me to have my old account Samwise The Hero, so this is my new one. Just wanted to say how much I love this website, and especially this forum.
Anywho, I love books, and I'd love to see YOUR Tolkien book collection. Not just books by Tolkien, but any books you have related to Middle Earth. Post a photo in the comments! (I think this type of post is allowed, my apologies if not @Bitterhand )
Mine is awfully small because I really only became a LOTR nerd last year:
What is your favourite Tolkienian language and for what reasons?
Which language(s) would you like to see more of in future works (books, movies, video games etc.)?
