I’m on the last book about halfway through! Afterwards I’m gonna read the Silmarillion (I think that’s how it’s spelled…)

The silmarillion is rly difficult so beware lol. I couldnt finish it
It is also fantastic.
I’ve heard a lot of people say it’s hard to read but definitely worth it! I’m going to give it a try though
When reading the Silmarillion for the first time, don't dwell too much on the especially boring bits...Of Beleriand and it's Realms is a pretty good example. Don't skip it, but you don't have to really pay super close attention to those parts. But when you reread it, it's good to pay closer attention.
Good to know! Thank you!
It can be hard to read but there are some really good parts. One of my favorites is in regards to the Valar in the beginning of the book.
Yeah, you don't have to read The Silmarillion too intently. Its biggest value is for historical background to LotR. Feel free to skip what you think is boring. If you have the book, you can always go back to the boring parts.
TBH, if you get books like The Children of Húrin, Beren and Lúthien, & The Fall of Gondolin (also possibly The Fall of Númenor), you can skip big chunks.
Finished the Silmarillion for the first time last week, never read a book like that. Simply great. Difficult and a bit complicated to understand everything in the beginning but once you get started it's crazy. Loved it!
What do you think?
